Since 2010, LUEN (Luen Jacobs by day) has been jetting around Australia, planting groovy seeds all over the country’s musical landscape and enriching the scene with her own Hand Games establishment. Through band management and touring, a heap of successful parties, an eclectic mixtape series and releasing DIY music zines, she’s cultivated a brand synonymous with the best new underground Australian music, from hip hop to electronic to indie to experimental to whatever else is good. Her keen ear and bottomless local knowledge has landed her work running events for Vice Australia and editing the music content for Sneaky Magazine.
It’s also seen her spin at Splendour in the Grass, The Falls Music & Arts Festival, the Big Day Out and warm up for acts like Sky Ferreira, Jagwar Ma, Little Dragon, Le1f, Elizabeth Rose, Neil Armstrong and more. With a stocking full of hip hop, trap, electronica and dancehall, LUEN is one of the country’s most exciting, talented young DJs in the scene.
