Born in Australia and currently based in LA, George Maple is a 26-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer who combines exceptional melodic songwriting with forward-thinking electronic production. Drawing on silky R&B, seductive grooves, and timeless pop music, Maple cites musicians such as Prince, Madonna, Timbaland, Arca and Caribou as inspirations — artists who were always at the cutting edge with both their songwriting and their production. “I love thought-provoking songwriting,” she says, “I admire balance between lyrics, melody, sonics, and energy.”
Maple’s debut EP, Vacant Space, arrived in 2014, followed by last year’s single “Where You End And I Begin” and “Gemini”, her monster collaboration with What So Not. Behind the scenes, Maple assists and writes for other artists including Hayden James, Snakehips, Flight Facilities, Flume, and Tkay Maidza, racking up over 70 million Soundcloud plays across the board.
As a live performer, Maple has sold out shows across Australia, LA and London, appeared at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and The Warehouse Project, and performed alongside the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Flight Facilities. Maple’s captivating performances feature her breathtaking voice accompanied by live electronics, moving from ecstatic, energetic highs, soul shaking bass and moments of honest raw intimacy.
